Required Qualifications:A minimum of 6 months of practical experience applying technical skills beyond classroom settings (this can include laboratory work, research projects, extracurricular activities, open-source contributions, volunteering, personal projects, or relevant internships). A strong grasp of fundamental engineering principles. Preferred Qualifications:1+ years of industry experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of overseeing product development from concept to production. Proficiency in Solidworks or similar CAD software. Experience with traditional machining and rapid prototyping methods. Familiarity with precision design and manufacturing practices. Knowledge of advanced imaging techniques. Additional Competencies:Highly resourceful, adaptable, and flexible; willing to tackle any task, big or small. Thrives on tackling significant challenges and enjoys identifying and defining problems as much as solving them. Delivers results effectively; while engaging in thoughtful discussions about issues and refining designs, understands that tangible outcomes matter most.

The Robotics & Surgery Engineering Team is at the forefront of creating our next-generation surgical platform, aimed at making our advanced brain implants accessible to those who need them. Our focus is on minimizing surgical time and invasiveness while maximizing safety and precision.

Role Overview and Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Neuralink, you will engage in designing and developing hardware solutions for our brain-machine interface devices. This includes working on surgical robotics, automation, microfabrication, and much more. You will take ownership of projects from inception to production, leveraging your mechanical engineering expertise in the dynamic field of brain-machine interfaces. Collaboration with neuroscientists, biologists, and engineers will be essential as you establish design criteria and build effective systems.
