Our Engineering team is excited to announce an opening for a Mechanical Engineering Intern. This seasonal internship for Summer 2026 will require approximately 40 hours of in-office work each week.

Location: Los Angeles, California

Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at DLR Group, you will play a crucial role in assisting the design of mechanical systems, from schematics to construction administration, across diverse building types. Collaborating with our integrated design teams, you will help create spaces that enhance the human experience.

About the EPX Program at DLR Group:

As an intern, you will be part of our Emerging Professional Experience Program. The EPX program offers a comprehensive understanding of the design industry and opportunities for professional growth. The program consists of mentorship, hands-on work, and weekly classes covering various topics such as design culture, sustainability, and project management. You will gain insights from our top executives and integrated designers throughout the program!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with licensed engineers to design mechanical systems for new constructions and renovation projects.
  • Participate in design team meetings and observe the coordination within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist with the development of project documentation and specifications.
