Your Responsibilities:As a Mechanical Engineering Manager at Helion, you will spearhead the mechanical design of high-performance structural systems integral to our fusion devices. Your role will be pivotal in resolving complex, impactful challenges that affect overall system performance while nurturing a high-achieving engineering team. You will establish technical standards, facilitate the execution of projects, and refine design processes to accelerate innovation in both speed and quality. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Engineering and is based onsite at our Everett, WA office. Key Duties Include:Mentoring and developing a team of multidisciplinary structural and mechanical engineers. Overseeing the design of machine architecture, high-performance structural systems, shielding, and assembly design. Making high-level architectural decisions regarding neutron shielding, primary structures, racking, and overall plant design schemes. Leading design, analysis, and manufacturing process enhancements to improve throughput and efficiency. Collaborating with Research, Science, Electrical, and Controls teams to define requirements and achieve program objectives.
