About the job

Oligo is revolutionizing spacecraft design and production with our innovative manufacturing-in-the-loop foundation model. We empower clients to concentrate on their technology and mission goals while we manage the entire spectrum from design to launch and operations. Utilizing advanced AI-driven generative design and automated manufacturing, our highly skilled team, comprised of ex-MIT, Harvard, and NASA JPL professionals, delivers cutting-edge payload-specific spacecraft in mere weeks instead of months.
With world-class advisors and robust funding from prestigious investors like Lux Capital, we seek exceptional builders, quick learners, and ambitious engineers. Whether your interests lie in spacecraft systems, avionics, ML/AI, or advanced manufacturing, you will collaborate across disciplines on real missions that are launched, operational in orbit, and scalable worldwide.
We unite top-tier AI/ML talent with leading satellite engineers in a bureaucracy-free environment, allowing us to reimagine how space systems are constructed, starting from first principles. If you believe you are a fit, we are eager to meet you.
As a Mechanical Generative Spacecraft Engineer, you will be a key architect of our flight systems, designing, integrating, and testing spacecraft within a small, highly capable team. You will connect mechanical and electrical disciplines, drive systems-level decisions, and physically construct what you design.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will take ownership of significant spacecraft components and facilitate communication between mechanical and electrical subsystems. You will lead the systems engineering efforts throughout the spacecraft's entire lifecycle. Your duties will include:
Mechanical & Structural Design
Spearhead the design of spacecraft mechanical subsystems: primary structures, mechanisms, enclosures, mounts, and deployables.
Develop detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
