A background in engineering or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications in quality assurance and safety standards.
About the job
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for reviewing and comprehensively understanding package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety regulations, including any updates. Your role will involve ensuring compliance from contractors with the established standards and specifications through diligent observation, precise measurements, and thorough testing, while also tracking quality assurance progress.
You will maintain meticulous records of contractor personnel and equipment utilized on-site, undertake site supervision and inspections as directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE), and document activities observed, including personnel, equipment, locations, reasons for activities, and methods used.
Additionally, you will report on materials delivery, implement site instructions, and enforce quality controls and procedures as per site standards. You will also prepare necessary site measurements and surveying checks and monitor adherence to quality, performance, and code requirements through inspection duties. Health and safety monitoring of construction works is crucial, and you will be expected to report any violations promptly.
