ResponsibilitiesFabricate and weld both standard and custom parts. Bend, proof, and clean stainless steel tubing systems. Safely operate an array of power tools, saws, and heavy-duty equipment. Collaborate closely with engineers for maintenance and operation of test stands. Assist in troubleshooting efforts. Work safely around hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems. Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and man lifts safely. This role will involve approximately 50% of your time spent on welding, with the remainder focused on other test and build-related tasks. As a member of a small team, you will also be responsible for daily site operations, including shipping, receiving, and administrative tasks. Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Over 3 years of TIG welding experience with stainless steel alloys and aluminum. At least 2 years of manual machining experience. Experience with pipe welding and orbital tube welding. Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and drawings.

Role Overview

The Mechanical Test Technician works on site in Moses Lake, Washington, supporting the rapid development and testing of reusable rocket systems. This role centers on hands-on construction, setup, and troubleshooting of test stand hardware for fluid, electronic, and structural systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble test stand systems using power tools, hand tools, and standard workshop equipment
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions to fabricate parts and assemblies
  • Prepare the test facility for operations and support general test activities
  • Troubleshoot hardware and facility issues related to testing
  • Work closely with design and test engineers to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Adapt quickly to new challenges and processes in a collaborative team environment

Location

This position is based at the Moses Lake Test Site in Washington.
