Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead project teams, including consulting engineers and contractors, throughout the entire mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes. Create and issue detailed drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects. Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines until contract completion. Address design and construction conflicts in real-time on-site. Coordinate with electrical utility providers to ensure reliable power service for critical site infrastructure. Engage with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders effectively. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the design or construction of MEP building systems. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Experience with electrical and power distribution systems (Strong understanding of HVAC operations and design principles, including refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and air-handling systems. Experience in plumbing design and operations, including domestic water, wastewater, venting, and storm systems. Knowledge of delta/wye transformers, building lighting, construction specifications, and facility grounding. Experience with critical power infrastructure, including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches.

MEP DESIGN ENGINEER
Join our Construction Projects Team and collaborate with engineers from various disciplines to design, construct, and activate vital infrastructure that supports SpaceX's ambitious long-term objectives. This team plays an essential role in delivering large-scale capital projects for diverse internal clients across the organization. While this position is primarily based in the Austin area, occasional travel may be required, with potential opportunities to work at other SpaceX facilities as business needs arise.
