Associate Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, or 3 years of relevant experience (e.g., Sample Preparation) (Required)Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or similar scientific discipline with 1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred)Proficient in English (Required)Basic reasoning and mathematical skills (Required)Basic computer skills (Required)Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull weights of up to 25 lbs regularly (Required)

Join our dynamic Metals team at our East Syracuse, NY laboratory as a Lab Analyst! In this role, you will prepare and analyze samples with remarkable accuracy and precision, adhering to SGS' analytical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will work both independently and collaboratively to meet daily production goals while ensuring compliance with hold times and turnaround times. Your understanding and application of fundamental analytical chemistry principles will be essential as you maintain a safe working environment and consistently follow safe laboratory practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently prepare and analyze samples post-training using department-specific instruments and analytical methodologies, in alignment with SGS’ SOPs.
  • Conduct routine operations, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Contribute to validation and Limit of Quantitation (LOQ) studies.
  • Assist in investigations and prepare responses to client inquiries and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  • Input and maintain necessary technical information to support laboratory operations.
  • Document all activities in the Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
