Requirements:A strong portfolio/demo reel highlighting recent work in environment and prop art for video games (submission required for consideration).3+ years of professional experience as a Surface Artist/Material Artist within the video game industry. Expertise in Substance Designer. Experience in creating a diverse range of procedural materials. Familiarity with real-time rendering workflows. Working knowledge of Substance Painter and 3DS Max. Comfortable handling light technical tasks within a proprietary game engine.

Role Overview

The studio is hiring a Mid-Level Surface Artist to join onsite in Portland, Oregon. This fixed-term, full-time role requires presence at the Portland office on a standard 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM PST schedule. The position centers on procedural texturing for AAA game projects, working closely with a skilled team of artists and technical staff.

What You Will Do

  • Develop procedural materials using Substance Designer.
  • Create a broad range of material types for real-time game environments.
  • Work with other artists and technical teams to ensure assets meet project needs.
  • Implement and test materials in a proprietary game engine.
  • Handle light technical setup and troubleshooting as needed.

Location and Schedule

This position is onsite in Portland, Oregon. The work schedule is 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday.
