AECOM Enterprise Capabilities is on the lookout for a skilled Senior Engineer - Transmission & Distribution (Primary) to drive the primary design engineering for High Voltage Substation projects. This position ensures the timely and high-quality production of engineering deliverables related to primary circuits. The role involves executing project design packages, ensuring technical accuracy, and guiding CAD designers/drafters in the development of drawings and models. A strong background in substation primary engineering and project delivery within transmission and distribution environments is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver comprehensive primary circuit engineering packages for HV Substation projects, adhering to project scope, schedule, and quality standards.Prepare and oversee design deliverables through various project phases (concept, 30%, IFC, As-Built).Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Protection & Control, Civil, Structural, BIM, and Construction) to ensure cohesive design delivery.Assist project engineers and managers with technical insights, progress monitoring, and problem resolution.Create and produce primary substation design outputs, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), substation layouts, equipment arrangements, busbar and conductor designs, electrical clearances, safety procedures, earthing, lightning protection, and lighting calculations.Ensure adherence to project specifications, client standards, and international standards (IEC / IEEE / AS).Conduct technical checks and reviews of primary design drawings and documents.Lead and coordinate CAD designers and drafters in producing drawings and models.Assess drawing quality, consistency, and compliance with standards to guarantee timely production and revision of drawings aligned with project milestones.Provide technical support during design, procurement, and construction phases as needed.Address engineering and interface challenges related to primary equipment and layout.Review vendor drawings and technical submissions for primary equipment.Offer limited technical guidance to junior engineers when required, without formal mentorship duties.Prepare and maintain high-quality engineering documentation and design reports.Ensure proper version control and traceability of drawings and deliverables.Assist in preparing material take-offs and technical specifications when necessary.Ensure all designs comply with:International standards (IEC, IEEE)Utility and client technical specificationsCompany engineering procedures and quality requirementsStay informed about industry developments and best practices in substation secondary engineering.
