About the job

About General Medicine

Join us at General Medicine as a Mobile Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in creating and enhancing a healthcare platform that simplifies the process of accessing various types of care. We offer transparent pricing for both virtual and in-person consultations, prescriptions, lab tests, imaging, and more.

What We Seek

We are on the lookout for a Mobile Engineer to lead the development of our inaugural native mobile application using React Native. This position is crucial, as you will be instrumental in establishing the app from its foundation, making key architectural choices, and setting the standards that the rest of the engineering team will follow.

The ideal candidate should have experience deploying and maintaining React Native applications in a production environment and possess a solid understanding of the interplay between React Native and native iOS/Android frameworks. Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin is essential for tasks such as HealthKit integrations, push notifications, or video calling SDKs, although your primary focus will be on TypeScript and React. You should also be open to contributing to our Next.js web frontend, as we view mobile and web development as a unified effort.

We value individuals who are passionate about technical excellence while also thriving in a fast-paced environment. Our team regularly balances engineering speed with product quality, and we are searching for a proactive individual who is eager to grow as a generalist. Our engineers often draft product requirement documents, analyze feature performance using SQL, and take ownership of quality assurance—no task is too small or outside your role if it contributes to delivering an exceptional product. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity and collaborating closely with design, operations, and clinical stakeholders.

While a background in healthcare is not a requirement, an enthusiasm for engaging with the complexities of the American healthcare system (including EHR integration and revenue cycle management) would be a plus.

About General Medicine

General Medicine is dedicated to transforming healthcare accessibility and affordability. We strive to create a user-friendly platform that allows individuals to easily navigate their healthcare options while ensuring transparency in pricing for all services.
