Ideal candidates should exhibit a blend of core qualifications and a strong desire to learn, adapt, and develop new skills as industry trends evolve. Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in British Columbia or eligible to apply for the designation. Minimum of 7 years of consulting experience in transportation engineering, showcasing a robust portfolio of project delivery and client engagement. Demonstrated experience collaborating with BC public agencies responsible for transportation, transit, and municipal infrastructure. Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian and BC transportation standards, including TAC guidelines, provincial manuals, and municipal engineering requirements. Proficiency in traffic operations, simulation, and design software such as AIMSUN, VISSIM, EMME, Synchro, as well as CAD/GIS applications. Familiarity with contemporary safety concepts and performance evaluation methods.

You will play a crucial role in business development and project delivery, aiding in the expansion of our Transportation Engineering practice both locally and nationally. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and crafting successful proposals.
  • Lead impactful transportation projects, managing all phases from initiation to completion, while prioritizing quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
  • Guide multidisciplinary project teams across traffic engineering, transportation planning, road safety, data analytics, and design (illumination, signals, etc.).
  • Engage in strategic planning and client management to ensure project results meet client and community objectives.
  • Collaborate with various sectors within CIMA+ to support cross-disciplinary projects and corporate growth strategies.
  • Recruit and mentor junior staff, including students and Engineers in Training (EITs), to foster the development of future transportation professionals.

As a Mobility and Transportation Engineer at CIMA+, you will significantly contribute to the advancement of our Transportation Engineering practice in British Columbia. Your business development responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the public and private sectors, focusing on provincial, regional, and municipal clients.
  • Building and nurturing long-term client relationships by understanding their evolving transportation needs and delivering customized solutions.
  • Producing proposal content including compelling technical strategies, coordinating inputs from subconsultants, and ensuring alignment with client expectations and industry benchmarks.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships that align with CIMA+’s growth objectives.
  • Representing CIMA+ at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings, enhancing visibility and positioning the firm as a leader in mobility and transportation innovation.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure that business development efforts align with corporate strategy, cross-sector initiatives, and regional priorities.
  • Mentoring junior staff in best practices for service delivery, proposal development, and project management.
