Role overview
The Network Consultant position is based in Adelaide, South Australia, and is offered as a full-time, permanent role. This role centers on delivering technical networking projects for clients, ensuring each project meets its defined scope, budget, and timeline. Quick decision-making, strong risk awareness, and the ability to minimize uncertainties are important. Experience with Cisco, Arista, Aruba, and Fortinet or Palo Alto technologies is required.
Applicants must be Australian citizens. Those holding Baseline or NV1 security clearance are preferred. This is a strict requirement with no exceptions.
Key responsibilities
- Expand technical expertise across a range of networking technologies and pursue further certifications.
- Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients.
- Adhere closely to company and client policies and procedures.
- Deliver projects that are accurately scoped and approved by clients.
- Design solutions tailored to specific project requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT networking.
- Practical experience with Cisco Routers and Switches.
- Proficiency with Fortinet and Palo Alto Firewalls; familiarity with FortiGate Firewalls is advantageous.
- Desirable: Experience with Cisco MPLS, SD-WAN & SDA (Catalyst Centre), and Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC).
- Knowledge of Zscaler, ACI, Cisco Wireless, Load Balancers, and Cloud Networking is a plus.
- Advanced skills in designing, building, and troubleshooting network solutions.
- Strong documentation abilities for both design and support materials.
- Preferred: Certifications in two or more vendor technologies, ideally at Professional level or above (such as CCNP).
- Experience in client-facing roles within a managed service provider (MSP) environment.
- Background in delivering large or complex network projects is beneficial.
- Familiarity with South Australian Government projects is highly regarded.
