The Role

The Network Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing security measures, processes, and practices focused on Network Security for the Department of Education Program at Accenture Federal Services. You will report to the Security Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with developers, technical architects, operations personnel, and fellow security team members to meet program goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, design, and implement Network Service security architecture within a predominantly cloud-based environment.
  • Work in partnership with Network, cloud security, and infrastructure teams to integrate security best practices into the application and development lifecycle.
  • Enhance and maintain security solutions using Zscaler SASE, Akamai, and various cloud-native network security products.
  • Assist in troubleshooting network security tools and services as required, contributing to the development of processes, policies, and standards such as TIC 3.0 in a dynamic landscape.
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses focused on network security, and develop documentation related to security protocols, compliance measures, and incident response strategies.
  • Identify and address gaps in system zero trust maturity, including conditional access, micro-segmentation, and application-level inspection.
