Required Qualifications:Demonstrated excellence in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, machine learning, or a relevant discipline. A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in academic or industry settings. Strong grasp of the scientific method and engineering principles. Proficiency in Python for data analysis. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with advanced statistical inference and machine learning, particularly in machine vision applications. Experience in neural stimulation techniques. Familiarity with modeling the effects of electrical stimulation on neural activity, such as using the NEURON modeling environment.

Team Overview:

The Next Gen team is at the forefront of developing innovative brain-computer interfaces. We aim to create intuitive, high-dimensional, and bi-directional connections between human brains and machines, targeting assistance for those with various neurological challenges. Our multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers collaborates closely to establish the engineering requirements for future products. As a Neuroengineer on our team, you will engage in diverse projects, from designing experimental setups to analyzing neural signals and behavioral data, as well as developing novel BCI paradigms. Ideal candidates will demonstrate adaptability, utilize their technical and creative skills to address various challenges, and possess a strong sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create computational models and design encoding strategies for electrical stimulation systems.
  • Design, conduct, analyze, and communicate outcomes of neural recording and stimulation experiments.
  • Develop comprehensive hardware and software solutions for prosthetic vision technologies, encompassing machine vision algorithms, smart glasses, and eye-tracking systems.
  • Facilitate and support research sessions in collaboration with software engineers, field engineers, and animal specialists.
  • Share results in a collaborative team environment.
