Role overview

The Nightshift Cleaning Team Leader oversees nightly cleaning operations at the Glasgow site. This position involves leading a team, assigning tasks, monitoring attendance, and keeping the line manager informed about any issues. Strong leadership and attention to detail are essential.

Main responsibilities

  • Work alongside the cleaning team for 4 hours each shift to maintain high standards across the facility.
  • Delegate daily tasks and set priorities for the team.
  • Arrange cover for holidays and absences to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Support staff training and deliver toolbox talks when required.
  • Follow Health & Safety regulations and all site-specific policies.
  • Keep accurate records for contracted hours, material orders, and holidays, especially in the Supervisor’s absence.
  • Report maintenance issues to the Supervisor without delay.
  • Comply with ABM and client site regulations at all times.
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and wear PPE as required by site policy.
  • Promote safety practices and adhere to all fire and safety rules.
  • Handle complaints within your area and escalate to the Cleaning Supervisor when needed.
  • Respond to management requests and assist with help desk queries as they arise.

  • Previous experience in team leadership and cleaning roles preferred.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Customer service mindset and proven ability to lead a team.
