Join Alva Energy Inc., an innovative nuclear energy startup, as a Licensing Engineer. In this role, you will spearhead licensing activities and regulatory interactions aimed at enhancing the power output of the U. S. commercial nuclear power fleet. Collaborate with a dynamic team to craft regulatory strategies and documentation that support utilities in their license amendment applications for power uprates.
Key Responsibilities
Draft in-depth topical reports, license amendment requests, and other essential documents for submission to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Assist in project planning and management of regulatory engagement initiatives.
Ensure strict compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and guidelines.
Develop and implement regulatory approaches tailored for power uprate projects.
Act as a liaison with utilities, the NRC, and various federal and state regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Engage in safety analysis processes and design efforts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field; advanced degrees are a plus.
Familiarity with licensing processes, regulatory compliance, and nuclear regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated experience in technical writing.
Strong project management and organizational skills to effectively coordinate timelines and stakeholder communications.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork across various departments.
Experience in the nuclear field is highly desirable.
