Role Summary:
The Nursing Attendant, reporting to the Director of Care, plays a vital role within the interprofessional health care team. This unregulated position involves providing continuous client care, observing and reporting on client conditions, and ensuring effective communication of any changes to registered nursing staff. The Nursing Attendant is responsible for the accurate delivery of prescribed medications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Ideal candidates will possess a solid foundation in trauma-informed care and have experience catering to individuals with mental health diagnoses, behavioral challenges, and neurological conditions including brain injuries and multiple sclerosis. The role requires a compassionate approach to support younger adults with chronic diseases and disabilities, who often present complex and evolving care needs. Adherence to Carewest’s philosophy, professional standards, and ethical practices is paramount, alongside undertaking other related duties as assigned.

Program Overview:
EQuaL (Enabling Quality of Life) serves adults aged 18 to 64 with disabilities resulting from various conditions, such as multiple sclerosis or brain injuries, who require comprehensive support from a continuing care center.
