Role overview

The Operations Analyst I - Payments Authorization joins the Payments Authorization team to support and improve the processes behind financial transaction approvals. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a positive customer experience by analyzing data and refining workflows.

Main responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze card authorization performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities to improve how transactions are approved or denied.
  • Create reports and dashboards that track approval rates, response times, transaction volumes, and the financial impact of authorization decisions.
  • Collaborate with IT, Risk, Fraud, and Customer Service teams to resolve operational issues and enhance authorization systems.
  • Investigate complex authorization cases, analyze root causes of systemic problems, and recommend data-driven technical and operational solutions.
  • Conduct comparative studies, benchmark against the market, and analyze trends to optimize authorization parameters and reduce false positives and negatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and support ongoing process improvements.
