Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Experience in the electrical installation or maintenance of solar PV projects is highly advantageous. In-depth understanding of rooftop solar PV systems, including their design, components, troubleshooting, and compliance with performance and safety standards. Proficient in preparing maintenance schedules, overseeing field service teams, and ensuring high-quality execution in line with SLAs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with internal stakeholders and for compiling accurate technical reports on maintenance outcomes. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technicians and assistant engineers in daily operations, training, and maintaining field discipline. Capable of assessing issues on-site and making sound technical and operational decisions.

Core Operational Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule all maintenance activities for rooftop solar installations, including both planned and unplanned tasks, in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations; share proposed schedules with the Customer Service team for effective coordination.
  • Oversee the execution of both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks by supervising technicians, ensuring that all work is completed thoroughly and adheres to established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate the results of maintenance activities to the Customer Service department to facilitate timely updates for clients.
  • Compile and assess technical reports to address various requirements including client inquiries, warranty claims, and insurance submissions.
  • Monitor and ensure the completion of warranty claims, liaising with vendors and suppliers, and provide recommendations for improvements based on the outcomes of claims.
  • Manage and maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for the operational team.
  • Ensure effective tracking, follow-up, and closure of service tickets within the agreed SLA response times.
  • Process vendor quotations and invoices in line with established workflows.
  • Adhere to Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) standards in compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and relevant regulatory best practices.

Departmental Support Functions

  • Provide both technical and non-technical support aimed at enhancing internal processes, such as the development of training modules, creation of standard operating procedures, and updates to existing SOPs.
  • Collect feedback and evidence regarding design failures, installation quality issues, or material defects, escalating these concerns along with recommendations to the Division Lead or Manager.
  • Assist with internal initiatives led by HR, QSHE, and other departments to foster teamwork, promote a culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide support to other regional or utility operations and maintenance teams as necessary, particularly during resource shortages or urgent support situations.
