Installation is a sensitive phase where the network is most exposed. Operations Technicians work closely with stakeholders to support operational tasks at scale. This role focuses on guiding technicians in real time, troubleshooting issues as they come up, and helping to develop tools that make installations easier. The impact is direct: better technician experiences and stronger field results.
What Success Looks Like
- Keep projects on track: Support technicians live and resolve issues quickly, aiming for over 90% of installations to finish on schedule.
- Raise quality standards: Maintain a rework rate below 5% while making sure all installation steps and checks are followed.
- Accelerate installs: Work with Operations Engineering to introduce automation that cuts installation validation times by 30%.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead live installation support shifts, answer technician questions, guide them through steps, and help clear roadblocks.
- Troubleshoot networking and hardware issues in real time, document root causes, and ensure effective fixes.
- Track progress on installations and keep project managers and internal teams informed.
- Spot recurring issues and partner with Operations Engineering to develop new playbooks, tools, or product improvements.
- Turn technician feedback into actionable product changes, making hardware and software more effective in the field.
