As the Director of Product Design, you will spearhead this transformation, enhancing both the customer journey and the learning experience. You will influence how families discover and choose AoPS, as well as how students interact with and progress through our comprehensive curriculum. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in integrating our dynamic brand identity into our products, ensuring it resonates not just visually, but is fundamentally woven into the functionality and feel of our learning tools. This leadership position is designed for an experienced player-coach who can define strategic directions, elevate design standards, and actively participate in team design efforts through constructive critique, mentorship, design workshops, and the exploration of innovative tools and technologies that enhance our building processes. Key Responsibilities: Establish and drive a cohesive design vision across discovery, enrollment, and learning, harmonizing fragmented products and journeys into an integrated system. Translate AoPS's evolving brand identity into engaging product experiences, ensuring our products effectively support the learning process. Cultivate collaboration between Product, Design, and Engineering teams by enhancing workflows and adopting contemporary tools (including AI) to boost efficiency, quality, and teamwork. Collaborate closely with academic teams to ensure pedagogical insights significantly inform the design of learning experiences. Develop and implement design systems, standards, and practices to promote consistency, quality, and productivity across teams. Lead and nurture a robust design team by recruiting, mentoring, and developing designers, fostering a culture of thoughtful critique and high standards.
