Role Overview Destinus Group seeks a BI Data Engineer to help transform scattered spreadsheets into a structured, scalable data platform. Based in Madrid, this role focuses on building and maintaining the core infrastructure that turns raw data into reliable insights for production, supply chain, and strategic decisions. The position centers on managing the Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, which serves over 200 team members across five European sites. The BI Data Engineer will lead efforts to migrate legacy Excel-based reporting into organized, automated data pipelines. Integrating new data sources and streamlining connections with ERP systems will be key to supporting Destinus Group’s continued growth. What You Will Do Oversee and maintain the Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse to ensure data is available, accurate, and performs well across all integrated domains. Automate the migration of existing Excel-based data sources into the Lakehouse using Dataflow Gen 2, reducing manual data handling. Add and integrate new data sources as reporting needs evolve, including current Excel and SharePoint files and future systems like quality management tools. Connect operational data with ERP data (Microsoft Dynamics D365 F&O) within the Lakehouse for unified reporting. Work closely with the Operations Data Specialist and BI users to align the data layer with dashboard and analytics requirements. Set up data quality checks, monitoring, and alerts to catch pipeline failures or data issues early. Document data models, pipeline logic, and transformation rules for maintainability over time.
