Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated individual to join our team as a part-time AI Quality Technician Labeler in Midland, TX. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for labeling images of spacecraft components and assembly processes, contributing to the training of our advanced computer-vision and robotics AI models.
Working in our secure AI Lab environment, you will utilize our proprietary labeling software to define bounding boxes, polygons, and segmentation masks, classify components and defects, and adhere to the rigorous labeling guidelines established by our data scientists and manufacturing quality engineers. This position demands precision and consistency, as your work directly influences the quality of AI models used for visual inspections and robotic operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Label images and videos of spacecraft components and assembly steps using AST’s computer-vision software.
- Apply bounding boxes, polygons, and other classification tags following AST's guidelines.
- Ensure high accuracy and consistency in labeling tasks to meet the AI Lab's throughput and quality targets.
- Identify and flag ambiguous or defective images for further review.
- Engage in calibration sessions and discussions to refine labeling criteria.
- Adhere to all security protocols within the AI Lab, including restrictions on personal electronics.
- Document work processes and maintain accurate logs of tasks completed.
- Collaborate with the AI Lab Manager and quality inspectors during image-capture sessions when necessary.
