The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in driving sales and enhancing customer satisfaction in our retail environment. This position is responsible for developing a holistic store strategy that reflects our corporate values and mission. The Assistant Store Manager oversees essential operational functions, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and visual merchandising. Additionally, they collaborate with the team to meet store objectives and promote employee development. Weekly hours may be adjusted to 32 hours or fewer based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet personal and store sales targets, setting a positive example for team members while fostering their sales skills development.
- Design and execute effective sales strategies to boost revenue and ensure an outstanding customer experience while achieving key performance metrics.
- Carefully collect and manage customer information, including telephone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities by promptly addressing customer needs and concerns as they arise.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of store merchandise, pricing strategies, and layouts of the sales floor and stockroom.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and visual merchandising to cultivate an inviting shopping environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using various computer systems and applications, including POS, CRM systems, and inventory management software.
- Implement the store's inventory security protocols in compliance with the company's loss prevention policies.
- Comply with all operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth and secure store operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail management experience, preferably with at least 1 year in an Assistant Manager role.
- A results-driven individual with a strong focus on sales, capable of leading and mentoring team members towards success.
- Possess a positive, energetic, and approachable demeanor; eager to engage customers and guide them through their shopping experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective interactions with customers and corporate partners.
- Technologically savvy, with the ability to operate retail POS systems, Microsoft Office, and email.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, or moving items up to 40 pounds when merchandising the sales floor and comfortable using ladders or stairs.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor staff, promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented team atmosphere.
