Epoch AI is actively seeking part-time Data Scientists to contribute to our innovative AI research initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will engage in reviewing technical literature, tracking benchmark data, and compiling crucial technical infrastructure details. Your analytical skills will be essential in synthesizing insights about AI models, data centers, and relevant companies.
Position Overview
As an independent contractor, your primary responsibility will involve collecting data on AI inputs, impacts, and various details, followed by in-depth analysis of the information gathered. Tasks may include reviewing recent machine learning studies to extract essential details about model architectures, monitoring benchmark scores, processing satellite imagery and permits to track data centers, and evaluating financial disclosures along with media reports for insights about AI companies. In collaboration with our research team, you will also assist in producing Data Insights and other impactful outputs.
Your daily responsibilities will encompass sourcing and reviewing diverse materials, meticulously extracting and compiling vital information, and discussing your findings with your supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of AI applications and inputs, exceptional attention to detail, and a discerning eye for evaluating the credibility of information sources. This position is entirely remote, and we are able to establish contracts in various countries. (Please note that we are unable to offer contracts to candidates currently residing in China.) While we welcome applicants from all time zones, you will need to be available for occasional meetings during typical working hours in the UTC-7/8 (Pacific Time) zone. This role is primarily designed for flexible part-time engagement.
