As a Part-Time EMT Theory Instructor at Unitek Learning, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of emergency medical technicians. Under the guidance of the lead instructor or Program Director, you will be responsible for delivering hands-on training and imparting essential knowledge to EMT students. Your focus will be on practical skill development and ensuring compliance with regulatory and educational standards.
- Instruct students on critical topics such as patient assessment, trauma care, medical emergencies, airway management, and basic life support (BLS) techniques.
- Facilitate practical, scenario-based training that includes skills labs, simulations, and field exercises, enabling students to practice procedures like CPR and patient assessment.
- Demonstrate proper equipment use, including defibrillators, spinal boards, and oxygen masks, while effectively handling emergency medical situations.
- Guide and supervise students to ensure they gain proficiency in practical skills during training exercises.
- Administer written exams and practical assessments to evaluate students’ knowledge and application of concepts.
- Provide constructive feedback on student performance, helping them identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and achievements throughout the course.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all training sessions, prioritizing student well-being and compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Oversee the safe and effective use of training equipment, including manikins and medical devices.
- Offer guidance on career development, professionalism, and ethical practices in emergency medical services.
- Create an inclusive and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable engaging and seeking assistance.
- Assist students with personal or academic challenges, directing them to relevant resources.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Instructor or Program Director to ensure alignment with curriculum and educational standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials, including lesson plans and practical exercises.
- Stay informed about advancements in medical technology, EMS protocols, and treatment methods to enhance the educational experience.
