Become a Part-Time Math Instructor at AoPS Academy!

As a Part-Time Math Instructor, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Engaging Curriculum: Utilize our specially designed curriculum and materials tailored for advanced students to conduct small math classes.
- Encouraging Student Engagement: Actively involve students in each lesson and promote student-led learning experiences.
- Classroom Management: Efficiently manage classes with up to 16 students.
- Grading and Feedback: Assess tests and assignments and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Building Relationships: Forge meaningful connections with students and their families, leaving a lasting impact on their educational journey.
- Inspiring a Love for Learning: Cultivate a passion for mathematics and critical thinking among students.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- A degree in a STEM-related or educational field is highly preferred.
- Strong content knowledge in mathematics.
- Prior classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is advantageous.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching students is a plus.
Please note: A formal teaching credential is not required for this role.
Schedule (Academic Year):
- Classes are offered after school on weekdays and on weekends. Applicants must be available to teach during weekday afternoons (starting as early as 4 PM) and/or on weekends.
- A minimum commitment of approximately 3 hours weekly for each assigned class is required.
- Each course session lasts for 1 hour and 45 minutes, occurring once a week.
Schedule (Summer):
- We offer several two-week camps during the summer months (June - August).
- Camp sessions are held Monday through Friday for 3 hours each day, with options for both morning and afternoon classes.
Location: This position is in-person at our Bellevue campus. Candidates must reside in Bellevue, WA, or the surrounding area and be able to commute to our facility.
