As Payment Operations Manager in New York, this role will help shape the company’s products and internal culture as ARQ grows. The company operates in the fintech space and handles both traditional and cryptocurrency payments.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee global payment operations: Manage the full lifecycle of payments, including cryptocurrency settlements, bridging, and custodial transactions.
  • Run accounts payable and payroll: Prepare, review, and execute payment runs and payroll distributions across multiple entities.
  • Supervise cryptocurrency controls: Oversee hot and cold wallet transactions, whitelisting, pre-sign reviews, and reconciliations. Apply the same rigor as regulated fiat processes.
  • Reconcile and resolve exceptions: Monitor transaction queues, investigate failed transactions, address discrepancies between payment rails, ledgers, custodians, and banks, and enforce cut-off discipline.
  • Shape internal treasury systems: Represent operational needs in developing ARQ’s in-house treasury payment tools. Work with product and engineering on requirements, user acceptance testing, and change management.
  • Monitor automated processes: Oversee payment provider integrations, identify issues early, and help prioritize automation tasks with engineering.
  • Maintain and update procedures: Document procedures, review them regularly, and implement change control to stay compliant with regulatory and business changes.
  • Generate operational reports: Report on settlement efficiency, funding utilization, break rates, and control effectiveness to inform strategic decisions.
  • Identify and investigate risks: Escalate risks quickly to mitigate losses, and lead post-incident reviews to find root causes and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate across teams: Act as the main contact for business units, technology, risk, compliance, and finance to align stakeholders and resolve issues.
