This position plays a key role in maintaining confidentiality, compliance, and trust across the organization. The Payroll Specialist manages sensitive payroll information and supports both staff and leadership with professionalism.

What you will do

  • Process payroll on schedule for different employee groups, reviewing timesheets, earnings, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll records and ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees promptly and professionally.
  • Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end close tasks.
  • Manage garnishments, tax withholdings, and other deductions as required.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance on updates related to employees, benefits, and compensation.
  • Support payroll audits and keep documentation organized.
  • Look for ways to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all employees.
  • Stay informed about payroll laws, tax requirements, and company policies to maintain compliance.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and employee changes in payroll systems.
