About the Role
As a Perception Intern at mach9, you will play a vital role in a variety of projects that are essential for the development and refinement of our flagship products. This internship offers you the chance to delve into advanced 2D image and 3D point cloud modeling for object and panoptic detection, with a focus on urban and roadway features such as traffic signals, utility poles, curbs, and painted road markings.
Example Projects You May Work On:
Develop a prototype aimed at detecting painted lines and curbs on roadways, which could evolve into one of our key products.
Adapt our perception models and algorithms for real-time detection, balancing accuracy and speed to operate on cutting-edge edge mapping hardware.
Contribute to the development and optimization of machine learning models to improve their performance and precision.
Candidate Profile:
Strong foundational programming skills in Python, especially in algorithmic problem-solving and clean code practices.
Proficient in implementing and iterating heuristic or geometry-based algorithms swiftly.
Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Jax, along with familiarity in computer vision tasks.
A genuine passion for applying machine learning to address real-world challenges, particularly in geospatial data analysis.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset, with the ability to tackle complex tasks independently.
Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a similar field, with a solid grasp of machine learning principles and techniques.
