Summary:
As a Pharmacy Technician specializing in Refill Calls, you will play an essential role in supporting pharmacy staff and liaising with Shields Health Solutions. This position is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of specialty medication refills, thereby enhancing patient care and streamlining pharmacy operations through effective communication and advanced technology.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver knowledgeable and compassionate support to patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy team members.
- Conduct outgoing refill calls to patients and promptly fulfill refill requests.
- Handle and triage incoming inquiries efficiently.
- Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and healthcare clinicians.
- Coordinate medication refills, including data entry and claims processing.
- Monitor medication stock levels and identify any special storage requirements.
- Document activities and maintain updated records using database applications.
- Facilitate patient access to necessary medications and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and engage in ongoing professional development.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills on the phone.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic team player demonstrating discretion and a commitment to confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered as a pharmacy technician; national certification is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician; 5-8 years of experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
