As an Assembly Technician I, you will collaborate with a skilled team to manufacture high-quality photonics products. Your responsibilities will include kitting, assembly, and conducting in-process measurements.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Operate in a production area with processes of low to moderate complexity.
- Prepare batches by gathering necessary components and preparing materials such as epoxies.
- Perform basic assembly of products utilizing mechanical fasteners and various adhesives.
- Learn to conduct visual and mechanical measurements of parts using metrology devices like eye loupes, microscopes, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
- Execute visual alignment of components with the help of alignment jigs, visual indicators, and laser test stations.
- Package products for the next processing step or for final customer delivery.
- Handle and clean specialty fiber optics, precision optics, and mechanical components.
- Sort and count parts and materials accurately.
- Inspect parts and materials for defects.
- Understand written work instructions and technical drawings to manufacture final products meeting the highest quality standards, aiming for zero scrap or rework.
- Maintain accurate records in our Manufacturing Database.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
