About the Role
Join our team at gem-technologies as a Piping Engineer supporting the Y-12 National Security Complex under the Department of Energy! This full-time position is based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, offering hybrid work flexibility. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive piping design engineering support for facility and production area operations within Category 2 and Category 3 facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Generate design output documentation to facilitate minor facility modifications, including drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, and calculations.
Conduct pipe stress analysis as part of design evaluations.
Develop designs in compliance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1 standards.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and plant organizations to ensure timely delivery of design outputs.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance within a nuclear-regulated environment.
Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with clients, production teams, management, and hourly staff.
Willingness to conduct field walk-downs and work within a production setting.
