Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in a technology infrastructure role, particularly in Linux administration. Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Chef or Ansible. Experience with distributed storage solutions and various storage protocols (NFS, GPFS, WEKA). Strong programming skills in Python or other high-level languages (Go, Rust, etc.). Familiarity with modern software development practices, including version control, agile methodologies, and CI/CD. Experience with observability tools in distributed systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana). Knowledge of various cloud platforms, particularly AWS and GCP. A passion for ongoing learning and technological advancement. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Squarepoint Capital is seeking a dedicated Platform Compute and Storage (PCS) Specialist to become a vital part of our expanding global team. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues worldwide to architect, develop, and sustain our compute and storage services, which are designed to scale continuously in support of our company’s growth. This position demands a thorough understanding of Linux platforms and distributed storage systems, focusing on performance optimization and capacity management. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with bare metal, hypervisors, containers, and public cloud platforms. Your daily responsibilities may include hardware and software installation and configuration, improving monitoring and alerting systems, developing automation tools, and more.

  • Effectively manage systems at scale through standardization, automation, testing, and comprehensive monitoring.
  • Implement development standards for source control, testing, and continuous integration for infrastructure, OS, patches, and configuration management.
  • Oversee a distributed compute environment and numerous petabyte-scale storage systems.
  • Install, manage, and monitor the Linux operating system (RHEL based).
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the stack.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to routinely re-prioritize tasks while achieving both immediate and long-term goals.
