Your Responsibilities:
In your role as a Platform Engineer – AWS Infrastructure, you will oversee the daily operations, reliability, and enhancement of our existing AWS infrastructure platform that supports mission-critical production workloads. Your primary focus will be on ensuring stability, security, automation, and operational excellence so that the platform remains robust, scalable, and user-friendly.
This position is integral to our operations team and emphasizes the management and enhancement of shared AWS services.
Operating & Supporting Existing AWS Infrastructure
Manage and support production AWS environments across multiple accounts.
Ensure the maintenance of core AWS services, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and shared platform services.
Assist with patch management utilizing Ansible where applicable.
Respond promptly to infrastructure-related alerts, incidents, and service disruptions.
Reliability, Monitoring & Incident Management
Monitor platform health, availability, and capacity via CloudWatch and centralized observability tools.
Troubleshoot infrastructure issues related to compute, networking, storage, or access control.
Engage in incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident enhancements.
Infrastructure as Code & Controlled Automation
Maintain and enhance existing Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
Employ Ansible for configuration management, operational automation, and standardization of system-level changes as needed (e.g., OS configuration, agents, operational tooling).
Minimize manual configurations by placing existing resources under version control.
Implement changes through controlled CI/CD pipelines and change management processes.
