Role Overview
Title: Platform Engineer (Scaffolding)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This role centers on designing, implementing, and maintaining reusable templates and automation pipelines in Bitbucket. The work accelerates service onboarding, standardizes infrastructure and coding patterns, and improves the developer experience. Platform Engineers at Cygnify help ensure teams can deploy new services quickly with built-in observability, security, and feature flags, all while following enterprise best practices.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain reusable code, infrastructure, and service scaffolds for microservices and serverless applications, with all assets stored in Bitbucket.
- Connect scaffolding templates to the internal developer portal (Backstage) to automate service creation and onboarding workflows.
- Embed platform standards, security protocols, observability, CI/CD pipelines as code, and feature-flag integrations (using GrowthBook) into all scaffolds.
- Work closely with the Platform Architect, Senior Platform Engineer, and application teams to refine scaffolding processes and improve the developer experience.
- Ensure scaffolds and automation remain maintainable, version-controlled, and adaptable as the platform evolves.
Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in CI/CD practices and tools.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and serverless frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
