Role Overview

Ebury is searching for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Platform Foundations AWS team. This role focuses on guiding both the technical strategy and daily operations for Ebury's core infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on AWS. The manager will shape the future of the platform, ensuring it remains resilient, compliant, scalable, and cost-effective.

This position involves direct leadership of engineering teams, technical mentorship, and hands-on oversight of infrastructure, networking, observability, and CI/CD capabilities. Experience working in highly regulated environments is essential, as the role includes managing relationships with internal and external audit bodies. The manager will also play a key part in global expansion, including integrating infrastructure for new subsidiaries and mergers or acquisitions.

What You Will Do

Technical Leadership and Execution

  • Set and own the technical roadmap and vision (6-12 month scope) for the Platform Foundations AWS team, focusing on infrastructure, networking, and foundational tooling.
  • Lead the strategic direction for AWS cloud operations and infrastructure automation, prioritizing consistency, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Take accountability for the reliability, availability, security, and scalability of core AWS infrastructure components.
  • Drive technical implementation for global platform integration, supporting new subsidiaries and M&A activities through standardized infrastructure provisioning and best practices.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and authority, guiding engineers on architectural decisions and best practices within the AWS domain.

Delivery Management and Operations

  • Oversee delivery of high-quality engineering outputs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and adherence to deadlines.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance team performance.
