Are you ready to stretch the boundaries of possibility?Essential Qualifications:In-depth technical expertise in BMS, mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in control systems, commissioning, and smart building technology. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage national projects, and effectively handle workload, finances, and stakeholder interactions. Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, capable of collaborating with clients, architects, M&E contractors, and senior stakeholders. Familiarity with open communication standards, BMS trends, and innovative smart building solutions. Qualifications: HNC or a degree in building services, electrical engineering, or computer science; proficient in BMS technologies such as Trend, Tridium, or Niagara; adept at cause & effect matrices, specifications, and commissioning. Chartered status or actively working toward it, with security clearance or willingness to obtain.

Join AECOM's Building Engineering Division as a Principal BMS Engineer. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing building management systems across diverse sectors, including office fit-outs, mixed-use developments, industrial facilities, government, and commercial projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead innovation, deliver state-of-the-art smart building solutions, and significantly influence the built environment.

Your role includes:

  • Leading the design, commissioning, and deployment of BMS systems, ensuring alignment with client specifications, regulatory standards, and sustainability objectives.
  • Engaging with stakeholders at various levels, including clients, architects, M&E teams, contractors, and senior management, to build robust relationships and provide expert guidance.
  • Managing intricate projects from inception to completion: conducting feasibility studies, developing specifications and point schedules, overseeing tender management, performing cost and bid analysis, and reporting on progress.
  • Executing system surveys, assessments, and FAT/SAT testing, delivering comprehensive reports, actionable recommendations, and training for clients to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Driving business development, mentoring and nurturing the BMS team, managing knowledge sharing, and contributing to advancements in smart building technologies.
  • Promoting Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) best practices, addressing technical challenges while ensuring compliance and fostering a safety-first culture.
  • Supporting the integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems, leveraging expertise in open communication standards and advanced BMS technologies like Trend, Tridium, and Niagara.
  • Occasional national travel to project sites and AECOM offices, balancing office responsibilities with flexible remote working arrangements.
