Security Governance | Job Overview | Principal Data Protection Analyst

Are you ready to be part of a pioneering Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) organization dedicated to establishing a state-of-the-art governance program? Join the Security Governance Team at Okta, where our mission is to provide the documentation, policy adherence, and advisory framework essential for promoting secure operations and behaviors. We are on the lookout for a meticulous and passionate Principal Data Protection Analyst to lead our internal data security strategy and enhance our capabilities in protecting sensitive information throughout the organization.

As the Principal Data Protection Analyst, you will take ownership of Okta’s data protection tool suite and be responsible for conceptualizing, implementing, and advancing data security strategies across the company. This includes enforcing data retention policies, developing and implementing minimum standards for data encryption and obfuscation, establishing best practices for secure key management, and automating security workflows. This role requires a high level of technical acumen and extensive experience with data security solutions, such as Okta, Crowdstrike, and Palo Alto Networks. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineering, Defensive Cyber Operations, Defensive Cyber Engineering, and Legal, as well as technology and cloud support teams. A profound understanding of DLP technologies like data security posture management (DSPM), endpoint detection and response (EDR), and cloud access security broker (CASB) is essential, along with substantial experience in the data security and protection field.
