Your ResponsibilitiesHands-On Building & Upstream Data Quality (~50%)• Create and implement data analytics tools, automated validation frameworks, and dashboards that provide Finance Operations and Controllership with real-time insights into data integrity across enterprise systems, utilizing AI for rapid prototyping and deployment.• Foster upstream data cleanliness across various functions: collaborate with source-system owners in Revenue Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Engineering to address data issues at their source.• Manage data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and quality scorecards for key controllership data assets, and establish master data management (MDM) standards.• Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT on integration strategies to ensure smooth data operations.

Role overview

The Principal Data Scientist joins the Office of the Chief Accounting Officer in Seattle. This is a hands-on role for someone with significant experience in finance and accounting. The focus is on delivering reliable, audit-ready data to support AI developers, process managers, decision-makers, and auditors across the company.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop analytics tools and data pipelines, applying AI to accelerate development.
  • Contribute to large-scale projects such as M&A integration, ERP deployments, data remediation, and SOX compliance efforts.
  • Work closely with teams in Controllership, Finance Operations, FP&A, Internal Audit, and Technology.
  • Design and implement data architecture that supports AI, automation, and audit-readiness.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools, including code generators and large language models, as part of daily work.
