As a Principal Engineer in Surface Technology (Surface Modification) reporting to the Surface Technology Group, you will collaborate with a global team comprised of materials scientists, equipment engineers, process engineers, quality control specialists, and field service engineers. Your role will involve addressing critical technology challenges and developing advanced solutions in partnership with both internal teams and external clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Enhancing the longevity, stability, and performance of Thermal & Plasma Enhanced ALD system components, ensuring efficient deposition of advanced thin film materials.
- Independently developing innovative methods to modify internal ALD chamber components, focusing on performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness for various semiconductor materials.
- Connecting process conditions with physical and electrical characterization to gain insights into underlying mechanisms.
- Specifying and procuring cutting-edge advanced processing equipment.
- Creating novel surface texturing and dry coating strip techniques.
- Utilizing expertise in media blasting, multi-axis automated control systems, e-beam, and pulsed laser technologies.
- Managing projects and relationships with key third-party suppliers and supporting institutions.
- Demonstrating a passion for surface engineering processes, driving projects, and conducting thorough root-cause investigations with a systematic and entrepreneurial mindset.
