Role Overview
As a vital member of our Global Supplier Development team, you will play a key role in enhancing supplier capabilities, improving design and manufacturing performance, and ensuring robust supply resilience across our global network. Your mission will involve proactively building supplier maturity, driving continuous improvement, and aligning supplier capability development with mid- and long-term strategic goals to bolster product quality, operational excellence, and readiness for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess supplier quality and technology gaps, implementing strategic plans to address them.
- Engage early with Design Engineering to influence target costs and Design for Excellence (DFx), pinpointing cost-saving opportunities and waste elimination strategies.
- Evaluate supplier processes and associated risks; collaborate to enhance capabilities through lean development methodologies such as Six Sigma, and execute mitigation plans.
- Leverage engineering and materials science expertise with suppliers to optimize capacity, product quality, yield, and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with Category leaders to propel long-term strategies supporting aggressive production scaling.
- Align supplier development initiatives with overarching category strategies and nurture strong partnerships with suppliers.
- Conduct comprehensive on-site supplier assessments to evaluate capabilities and identify gaps during the selection process.
- Implement strategic improvement plans with suppliers to ensure readiness and facilitate NPI.
- Work closely with global Business and Key Product Unit Engineering teams to meet specific end-use requirements.
- Advance manufacturing capabilities, DFMEA/FMEA, and establish robust Process Control Systems and PFMEA at critical locations.
