About the job

Join our innovative team at STR as a Principal Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) in Arlington, VA (also available in Woburn, MA and Dayton, OH) and play a pivotal role across a diverse array of Department of Defense (DoD) mission areas. We seek a seasoned Systems Engineer with a proven track record in leading teams, architecting complex systems, and navigating the Systems Engineering Lifecycle, particularly in the realm of Digital Engineering and MBSE. You will be instrumental in supporting STR’s Systems Development Division by implementing robust processes and tools that ensure architectural integrity and traceability from requirements analysis through software development to production deployment.

This role provides the unique opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in sensor development and cybersecurity, enhancing your expertise in MBSE tools and techniques. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in advanced Systems Engineering methodologies, Modeling and Simulation, and Digital Engineering/MBSE, with a passion for mentoring junior staff and nurturing the growth of subject matter expertise within the organization.

As a Systems Engineer, you will not only model in SysML but also guide teams in leveraging customization and automation techniques through Cameo to ensure compliance with DoD Digital Engineering objectives. Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python is highly desirable.

You should have experience in implementing a rigorous MBSE approach for DoD systems development.
