Are you ready to push the boundaries of engineering?We seek the following qualifications:Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer registered with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., IET). A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience delivering projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE, and SPT, adhering to their standards. Project experience in overhead line engineering (preferably up to 400kV). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Your Role:

As a Principal Overhead Line Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within our Transmission & Distribution team, engaging with clients to deliver technically demanding OHL design projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering technical support for overhead line design on intricate multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Participating in substantial work programmes like the GGP projects.
  • Assisting in proposal development, detailing project timelines, resource allocation, budget considerations, objectives, and targets.
  • Providing technical input during project implementation, statutory planning, and public consultation events.
  • Overseeing design activities related to overhead lines, including PLS-CADD modeling, precise line routing, comprehensive structural analysis, and sag-tension calculations.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Identifying technically favorable solutions/layouts for client presentations.
  • Creating and reviewing engineering deliverables such as detailed designs, reports, and presentations.
  • Performing quality checks on engineering drawings and calculations.
