What You Will Be Doing

As a Principal Power Electronics Engineer at ChargePoint, you will leverage your creativity and versatility to ensure our products are designed, developed, and produced to the highest quality standards. This pivotal cross-functional role encompasses various aspects, including the development and manufacturing of high-performance power systems.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Design and architect high-power AC and DC systems for consumer and commercial EV chargers.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop advanced AC to DC and DC to DC converters.
  • Design and implement soft switching technology for multi-level converters ranging from 40-100 kW and up to 2000 VDC.
  • Create multi-level four quadrant grid-tie inverters compliant with regulatory standards in the EU and North America, with power ratings of 100-200 kW and up to 2000 VDC.
  • Oversee all facets of product design, including modeling, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, software development, magnetics, thermal design, and adherence to regulatory compliance and DFM considerations.
  • Utilize advanced power topologies such as LLC, phase-shifted full bridge, flyback, forward, and multi-level converters, along with techniques like ZVS/ZCS.
