About the role
Location: Austin, TX
Employment Type: Full-time, In-Office
Department: Engineering / Product
Salary: $180K – $220K annually + equity in the company
Join our team as a Principal Product Manager and take charge of our core quote flow, bridging the gap between underwriting and agent experiences. This is a full-time, in-office role located in Austin, TX.
In this position, you will cater to two primary customer segments: agents quoting with us daily and underwriters reviewing and approving those quotes. Your mission is to simplify underwriting complexities into a smooth, reliable experience for agents, ensuring that our risk management is perceived as clarity and confidence, not as a hindrance.
This team is dedicated to driving revenue growth while adhering to disciplined risk selection practices. As a senior-level individual contributor, you will collaborate intensively with engineering, design, operations, actuarial, and executive teams to influence strategy, make impactful decisions, and deliver results that accumulate over time.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhance the agent quote experience. Minimize friction and uncertainty throughout the quoting lifecycle, from initiation to completion, aiming for a one-call close.
Develop intelligent underwriting systems. Partner with engineering and underwriting teams to automate and model-driven decisions, allowing underwriters to concentrate on intricate, high-value cases while our systems manage routine tasks efficiently.
Influence portfolio performance through product innovation. Your contributions will directly impact critical metrics such as close rates, quotes reviewed per underwriter, post-close action rates, and loss ratios. You will connect product decisions to business outcomes with clarity.
Prioritize effectively. With numerous compelling challenges ahead, you will leverage data, business insights, and sound judgment to focus on what matters most, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic goals.
Collaborate across departments. Engage closely with Design, Engineering, Underwriting, and our Insurance teams to turn genuine user challenges into effective solutions. Your work will not just be recorded in JIRA or Google Docs; it will be implemented rapidly, impacting agents and underwriters directly.
