Your Role as Principal Safety Lead
We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Principal Safety Lead to spearhead our safety initiatives for our autonomous vehicle platform. In this pivotal leadership position, you will be responsible for crafting, implementing, and supervising the safety strategy that guarantees our vehicles safely and reliably navigate the complexities of real-world environments. Key Responsibilities
- Formulate, own, and implement a comprehensive safety strategy for Avride's autonomous vehicles.
- Lead and mentor a team of safety engineers, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Oversee all safety-related processes, including hazard analysis (HARA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and the development of the overall Safety Case.
- Ensure compliance with critical safety standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448/SOTIF.
- Define and manage safety requirements throughout the product lifecycle, from initiation to deployment.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) to enhance system safety continuously.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams (Planning, Perception, Control, and Hardware) to embed safety into the design from inception.
- Oversee all safety verification and validation (V&V) activities, including simulations and real-world testing.
- Lead the investigation and analysis of safety-critical incidents.
- Act as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and external safety auditors.
