Systems Technology Research (STR) is home to the Space Missions and Sensing (SMS) Sector, where teams focus on advancing technologies for space-based sensing, space control, and counter-sensing. The Space and Counter Space (SCS) group specializes in electronic warfare, developing both engineering and operational prototypes to demonstrate new capabilities in practical settings. Facilities include benchtop setups, anechoic chambers, and over-the-air testing environments, supporting hands-on development and evaluation.
The team brings together principal investigators, program managers, signal processing experts, software developers, FPGA specialists, RF and electromagnetic engineers, and mechanical designers. Collaboration extends to research engineers, academic partners, and industry experts, all working to solve complex RF sensing and counter-sensing problems.
Role overview
The Principal Signal Processing Engineer (TL2) will lead efforts in algorithm and signal processing research, focusing on signal detection, classification, autonomous sensor planning, and radar electronic warfare. This position is based in Woburn, MA and involves close collaboration with clients to address their technical challenges. The role also includes guiding a team of researchers and working alongside engineering groups to optimize and demonstrate advanced system capabilities in real time.
What you will do
- Work directly with clients to understand their operational needs and tailor solutions for national security applications.
- Design and implement advanced signal processing and machine learning methods for radar and RF sensing challenges.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deploy prototype systems.
