Qualifications
Responsibilities:Design and implement innovative tools and processes that facilitate rapid and accurate software development. Engage in hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the complete Starship software stack. Collaborate with other teams to design, maintain, and enhance a dedicated pool of on-premises computing resources. Identify opportunities for improvement and devise creative solutions that empower the software team to overcome challenges in developing the world’s first fully reusable rocket and spacecraft. Basic Qualifications:A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience alongside a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM field; or at least 9 years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree. Preferred Skills and Experience:Familiarity with Bazel or similar build systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Rust, or Go. Experience in developing tools and infrastructure that significantly impact the workflow of hundreds of engineers. Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and a keen interest in leveraging AI to enhance code quality, testing, and development processes. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Principal Software Engineer, Continuous Integration (Starship)
In the role of Principal Software Engineer on the Starship Continuous Integration team, you will take the lead in developing the tools that fuel Starship's software engineering efforts. Your responsibilities will include designing, maintaining, and scaling systems that empower hundreds of engineers to seamlessly integrate their code changes and ensure the delivery of reliable software for all Starship vehicles and launch facilities. This position offers significant autonomy, and we seek individuals who thrive in collaborative environments, can identify key challenges, and drive solutions from inception to completion!
